My new project: sp-rest
During the last few weeks, I consumed a lot of time researching the architecture and the technologies-tools, that should be adopted by the company I work as a development director for (Computer Solutions SA), in order to build the next generation of our ERP and HIS suite “Asclepios™”. Through this process I obtained a deeper and broader knowledge of the trends in the universe of modern business application crafting. I hope that in the near future I will be able to share notes, thoughts and decision paths that emerged from this “exploration” in this very blog.
Revealing the hint that my mind is almost irreversibly set towards Service Oriented Architecture and layered systems (yes, I know you know that the future lies in the cloud), I decided to do some hands-on work on some of the technical approaches at hand. This way, I will have the opportunity to assess by example some of my ideas and hopefully come with a better final decision.
One of the first steps of this procedure is the undertaking of developing a library that will “wrap” a database with modern web services, following the RESTful approach (to the maximum possible standardized level).
And, behold, it’s name “SP-Rest” and it has a logo, too…
The codebase is hosted on GitHub, there is a special page about it in this blog and there will (hopefully) be a series of posts as a journal of the development process.
Great article is there any chance I can take it and copy it onto my own blog
